The Center for Pregnancy is a non-profit ministry supported by local churches and individuals. We are located in Friendswood, Texas and serve the entire Bay Area. The Center provides an environment of acceptance and warmth with the goal of making an unplanned pregnancy in a woman's life as easy as possible to face.
Since the Supreme Court decision of Roe v. Wade in 1973, which legalized abortion on demand, almost 40 million babies have lost their lives through abortion in our country. The Center for Pregnancy believes in the worth and dignity of every individual, including the unborn child. Studies have proven that by eight weeks of age, an infant, at little more than an inch long, has all major organs in place and working. Medical studies have well documented the fact that life begins at conception. Discovery of an unexpected pregnancy can be a time when a woman may feel a variety of emotions, ranging from fear and panic to worried and overwhelmed.
Abortion is the solution offered by many for women experiencing a crisis pregnancy. Research reveals, however, that women often suffer physical and/or psychological damage that can be linked to abortion. Often women who find themselves in a crisis pregnancy feel there is no other solution to their problem. They believe they have no other alternative to help provide for them or their unborn child.
More than 90% of the women who have had abortions say they would not have done so if they had been better informed about child development in the womb and about abortion procedures.
The Center For Pregnancy offers the alternatives and the help needed so that women may choose life for their babies and for themselves.
Volunteer opportunities
Peer Counselor–Training required. Work with clients one-on-one, communicating God’s love and truth as well as assisting with practical needs.
Receptionist – Training required. Answering phone,making appointments
and other clerical duties at front desk.
Board Members – work as a team to lead the ministry spiritually and
organizationally.
Office Workers – assist with bulk mailing,making copies, data entry,
making phone calls etc.
Closet Help – sorting , folding maternity and clothing. Cleaning baby
equipment.
Church Liaisons – help keep the Center before church body, assisting
with announcements and encouraging others to become active in the ministry.
Prayer Partners – pray for Center,volunteers and clients on a regular basis.
Support Group Leaders–to lead various Bible studies or teach classes.
Child Care – for volunteers and clients during class times.
Transportation – for abortion minded clients needing to come to Center
and other appointments.
Please prayerfully consider if God may be leading you to participate in this ministry.As a member of our 600 club, donating only $10 per month, you can become active in educating young women and men regarding the reality of abortion, assisting pregnant clients and their babies, helping women overcome the shattering aftermath of previous abortion, and teaching youth the consequences of premarital sex and the importance of following God’s plan for their lives. Of greatest importance, however, is becoming involved in sharing the Gospel to those who have never experienced God in their lives, have never owned a Bible, or have never known what unconditional love is all about.
